Kubota L3710 HST
Greetings, I am in the process of purchasing a used L3710 HST with a woods 7500 Backhoe. Its a 2000 with ~500 hours on it.
The price is 21,000. It looks fine seems to drive OK, but I wouldn't know if it was good or not.

Is this a fair price? anything I should be looking for? I am under the impression that the BH has a sub frame, but uses the tractors hydraulics, not a PTO pump.

I was originally looking for a bx23/23 but this seems like a whole lot more tractor for the money.

Any insight for the clueless?

Assuming it has no major mechanical problems, that's a fine tractor at a decent price. I have the same backhoe on my L3010HST and absolutely love it! Interesting that the owner went with the 7500 instead of the 9000 BH; the 3710 could have supported the larger hoe.

I could give you a list of things to look for, but it sounds like you're not entirely sure of what you're looking at. Around here, guys in the service dept at the local dealers moonlight by doing inspections on the side. They charge about $50. If that's an option for you, it might be the way to go.

The plus of the smaller unit would be manuverability! The disadvantage is the size if to compare what the two can do. The BX is not quite the tractor that the 7500 is but close. The L series is larger and more powerful in all ways.

If you were to equate the hours on the tractor to miles on a car, how many miles would 500 hrs equate to? Anyone make a comparison like this before? I am mainly going to use the tractor on 10 ac to do tree work and landscaping.

Greetings to you.

I traded a Grand L 3710 HST in when I bought my 5030HSTC. I had about 750 hard hours on it doing a variety of farm related jobs.

A couple of things about the 3710. The sheet metal tends to rust at the lap joints. You have to be careful when dismounting the loader so as not to drop the loader crossbar on the hood and most importantly, the front end on the 4wd model suffers from bushing wear, especially when doing loader work. Kubota improved the front axle on subsequent models by going to a ram type steering unit. The 3710 has a drag link setup between the frame rails and the drag link is put under a great amount of side pressure during loader work. The result is accelerated slop in the steering. The easiest way to determine the slop is to elevate the front axle off the ground by using the FEL. Grab a tire and twist the tire sideways while observing the steering wheel. Also "feel" the play before the movement actually starts the steering wheel in motion. If there is appreciable play, the front steering mechanism needs rebuilt. Another good test is to drive the tractor on pavement in high range. If the front wanders or shimmies at all, a rebuild is needed.

Sounds like a good deal to me.

I have an L3710 HST and absolutely love the machine. I put slightly more than 500 hours on it in the past 5.

Other than replacing the air filter sensor, and changing 2 tubes I've done nothing other than normal maint.

500 hours is hardly broken in for a compact diesel, I'd equate this to 15,000 miles on a car.

Texomobile, I'm a Maine-iac also, near Augusta. I've got a L-4310, it's a 2001 with 190 hours. GST tranny, heavy duty loader, came with a heavy duty 6' Bush-hog with 6 hours, a 74" woods snowblower with maybe 10 hours, and a bushhog posthole digger with maybe 2 hours on it, the paint isn't off the auger. I paid 19,000. The guy I bought it from said he had over $30,000 in this set up.

Price depends on how it is equiped

Does it have an LA682 loader?
Equiped with R4 tires?
Was the important 50HR mat. done?

Backhoe is a little small for this tractor but will work-Bradco 509 or Woods 9000 would be best match up

Not sure about steering problum on a 2000- my 2002 L3710 don't have drag link that 5030 had problums with-I don't know when they made the change

This tractor is same as L4310 just smaller bore - L4610 same just larger bore and heavier front axel- L3710 is only one with mid PTO

Hope this helps /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hi , It has a 681 loader with HD round bucket, R4 tires, woods 7500 backhoe. Thats about it. I dont have any service records so I dont know much about the maint. My biggest worry is that I'm getting something that might be "all used up" I'm not sure how the previous owner used the tractor. I cant be sure if the 450 hours on the tractor might of been really hard hours.

The dealer says that the condition is "excellent" but I really wouldnt know. I just hope they are honest.

I don't think it would be used up at all with 450hrs-

Question is was it abused for those 450hrs-look it over carefully-slide under it-look at bucket is it bent, alot of wear on cutting edge-look at sheet metal, is it all dented up? If it looks abused I would pass

I would try to negoiate price down-I paid 20k with 30hrs new loader,new R4 tires and rims-no backhoe thou-about a year ago
