Saw a used Mahindra the other day and am struggling with the value. 4WD, FEL, a little damage on the front grille headlights, tires worn on the back sides(dealer says this is from running on pavement), was used primarily for contract grass cutting, approx 200hrs. 2002(?) model.

With new ones(2004) priced in the high teens without FEL, newer style seat and Loader attachment O%/36mo financing on new.

Anyone have a feel for a good buy price on this unit.

Thanks,

Shelby Smith

Depending on the amount of damage done to the front and service records I'd say between 15,500 and 17,000. I've been struggling with what to ask for mine if I trade or sell and came to the conclusion with 200 hrs and slight cosmetic damage, dealer serviced, 4x4, FEL, 2003 it's worth between 16-19000. I'm still not sure whether to take that kind of a loss on it or not. We want a little bigger tractor with the cab. The 6000's have starting issues, dealer is coming today to look at mine for the 3rd time. They are a little underpowered for bigger than 4ft hay rollers. The seat sucks it will beat you to death. Also check where the steering actuator mounts on both ends, mine fell off the other day it's just held in by a roll pin and if the pin works out the thing will fall off. If You got any more questions just pm me. I've put mine through a pretty good break in in the 9 months I've had it.

Thanks, that is the range, but am leaning lower to hedge. They've had it all summer so it seems to be a spotty market at this point, but there seem to be some folks that really like them here. I noticed you had yours advertised here back in Feb, but you ended up keeping it?

Have they diagnosed the starting issue? Or better yet, what have they said the problem was?

Thanks, for the response. Any other issues a prospective 6000 owner should be thinking about?

I've had no dealer issues. They have fixed everything. The starting has been bad ground to this point, but now I believe it is a switch. They are coming today to check it. I haven't had any other problems. Probably can't buy a better tractor for the money new. All brands have issues. Neighbors have had trouble with their deeres. I will put more faith in the dealer when I buy again. I have a good dealer and I will buy from him again. If I sell/trade I'll probably end up with another Mahindra.

I also have a 6000 4wd w/ fel. I am waiting on the 7000 2nd run production. I suspect they will be available early next year. If you are still in the market then, let me know. I will probably sell the 6000. I also have about 200 hrs on mine.

Slippy,
I am not familiar with the 7000 series. I have drove the 7520 and totally love it and am considering selling my 6500 for a 7520. Please describe the 7000. Thanks

Just thought I would update folks. Went by today and the dealer finally sold it. Not to me but someone they had been working on it.

I still had reservations about the care the owner had taken with it, but it still was a pretty good buy - if he sold it in the $16500 range or less. I did talk to the dealer that sold it originally and he thought it was a good buy not taking into consideration the damage and rough condition which should be a factor.

Talked to the dealer, who interestingly used to work for us. He had a used 4500 and a used 4110 coming in and I thought maybe I would explore those options now. It'll be tough to get my head screwed on straight now because of the 6000 price, but realistically I probably ought to be looking in the lower price range, or actually, the mid teen range - any other thoughts would be appreciated.
