Used propane generator - worth hassel to fix ??

You can't run grille bottles upside down to get liquid anymore,[/COLOR] now they all have float valves. Mostly so they cut off automatically when filling, but it also serves as a tip-over shutoff.

What are the chances the diaphragm in the demand regulator is shot?

There's some tractors around here that don't know that. LP tractors are common where I live. I occasionally see someone driving to the fill station with a grill bottle bungeed upside down because they ran out of propane. I loaded 12 rolls of hay winter before last using my neighbor's tractor with an inverted grill bottle the whole time. Yes, the bottles had opd valves. You don't need a tractor to find the truth about this. Rest an inverted bottle on a table, then turn the valve on. Be sure to let us know if you proved your point.

id fix it if he gave it to you for free.....not one penny more. then again i have an old coleman 3500 watter you can have for free if you want to drive up to north idaho

The OPD is a float. When you turn the tank upside down the float rises toward the bottom of the tank and opens wide open.
