You can purchase a whole set of large wrenches at Harbor Freight for about $30 when on sale. They work just fine for the large nuts on the PT.

I don't think there is room for a socket. At least not on mine. The way PT changes things, your's might be different.

Think you might be right, mine has the wiring harness in the way. Looks a little to crowded for a socket.

Maybe the earlier models were setup different.

When I took the class at PT they told me to check the torque often (every 8 hours is what my memory says). I asked how much torque and they said, "Everything you got". I have had a little movement in the nut over time. It seems most of it was early on. Keep the nut tight and the bearing greased.

I could tell when hauling a load of rocks over uneven terrain this weekend mine seemed a little loose. Every 8 hours? There might be something to that. Thanks.

Thanks for this info. I have to admit, I usually just grease every 8 hours but not check the nut.

I find that the best way to tighten it is to turn the steering to the far right and this gives me good access on the left side.

I don't tighten it every eight hours, as it seems to have settled out with age and there has been little movement if any of the nut lately. It does concern me that others may never tighten theirs.
