Used RCK54-22BX - what to look for?

Got a line on used RCK54-22BX MMM. Planning closeup inspection next week. Would appreciate any suggestions on what to look for.

Pull the blades and the lower cups will come off. They catch overflow grease, and if it has been greased properly, they should have alot off goo in them. Pull the top bolt on the gearbox and oil should seep. If it has been lubed well, there should be no problem I think.

Also check the rollers and see if they seem loose on their spindles. Could need new rollers.

Thx...been following a long thread about lubing the blade shaft bearing assembly. 54" works better for me because of some tight areas.

From the pix, the RCK series looks like a belt drive arrangment. I assume its driven by the PTO. What do I need to connect it to the PTO drive?

Anything I should look for around the gear box? TIA.

The deck should come with the drive shaft. Check the blades for rock damage. That is a good way to know how well the deck has been cared for. I wouldn't pay more than 50% of new, since it is out of warranty and can get costly if you have to do any repairs to it. I believe that a new set of blades costs about $50 and the belt is about the same. Condition is the all important question. Look it over carefully, because once you buy it, you own it with all its future problems. Also check the owners manual to make sure that you get all the parts to the mower deck. If the anti scalp wheels are worn out, then that will also add to the cost of repairs.
