Cord,

do you think the spindles are the same on a rm360 and rm59? Just guessing maybe so, you can buy parts for the spindals. Bearings, shafts, sleeves, seals. I have them. As another member mentioned, $118 sounds right on for a complete assembly. But you can get other stuff.

I'm guessing you are going to try to make 1 out of 2, is that right? If so, then you will have bought a $500 mower, IMO that is no deal. Try to see if the model and SN tag is still there as you would need that for parts because of a serial # break (I think)Parts are available for the RM59 and the belt layout prevents the use of a gear box. If I also remember correctly these RM59's require frequent belt adjustment

Not being familiar with the RM360, I checked Woods's site, and the spindles appear to be different.

Good Work! They are different but the spindles do look to be serviceable.

Thanks,
Rob

$250 each seems like a good price, even for ones needing some work. The spindles are serviceable, but you may need access to a press to get them apart. Not sure about the 59, but on the 306 there is a pressed on sleeve that holds the top bearing in place, and ultimately the whole assembly together. If you start pounding you're likely to spread and ruin the shaft. Same thing goes for putting it all back together. Fortuneately a friend of mine has one of those hydraulic jack-type press stands, which makes the whole job very easy.

Plan on spending over $100 for the belt too.
