Used tractor needs different tires

I'm looking at a used Kubota L3450 that will probably be for sale. It has turf tires, but I need R4 utility tires.

What's it cost to swap out tires? Is it too expensive to be worth it when you are looking at a tractor that has everything else you want, but the wrong tires?

Is there an active trade in used tires? Be nice if someone else wants these turf tires, and just happens to have the right R4s that I need....

You just have to keep in mind that you have to change the wheels (rims) as well as the tires to go from turf tires to R4 tires.

9 times out of 10 when I read or hear of someone looking to swap wheel and tire equipment, they are trying to move away from turfs. Best of luck to you, but factor the cost of what you want into the purchase price.

I see them on eBay with frequency. There is a set up right now. Typically, you'd need to budget $900 and up.

I was talking to a local guy that deals in used tractors and equipment. Usually any clean smaller tractor he has moves quickly. I had noticed he had a clean looking deere that had been on his lot for a couple of months. He said he could have sold the tractor a hundred times if it had anything other than turf tires and that he would not make any money if swapped tires and wheels.

Thanks for all your input. Obviously, it's not worth trying unless you get the tractor for a price low enough to rationalize the cost, and why would the seller sell themselves short?
