didn't Ohio have a low alcohol content beer that you could buy at 18 at one time? I think it was back in the 1960's???

You could get 3.2 beer in Kansas as well when I grew up just across the border in Kansas City, Mo. (early to mid 70's) State troopers used to stop kids coming back from Kansas with trunk loads of the beer and make them throw it off the bridge in to the Missouri River, can't imagine how many bottles of beer are still down there! Pearl was a real favorite.

/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gifI never allowed anyone to throw away the cans or bottles (littering), but I have been known to catch teenagers with booze and tell them if it happened to get poured out on the ground, then there wouldn't be any evidence and I wouldn't have to arrest them. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif And you know, it always got spilled on the ground somehow or other. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
And when I was a kid in Oklahoma, the 3.2 beer was what they had, too.

Yeeeessss. 3.2 beer and low alcohol wines were OK for 18-20. Anything goes for 21 and over. But they didn't seem to enforce it. You walk in, pick up a case of Little Kings, plop it on the counter like you've done it a thousand times and they take your money. No questions asked. And I was a skinny little pup that didn't look a day over 18.
Why did we drink Little Kings? The little 7oz bottles were easy to hide in your pocket, they were unique looking, it had a weird taste that you had to get use to(some would call it skunky), and the most important reason... 5.5% alcohol! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Bird! I've been on the receiving end of that speech. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif We snuck 3 guys and a washtub of beer into the drive in movie in the trunk. Usually, the girl at the ticket booth knew what was going on, and didn't care. She'd come by the car for a beer later /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. However, this night, her mom was taking the tickets. She let us in, but called the cops. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif He came out, made us pay the admission, and kicked us out of the movie /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. Outside the gates, he made us start pouring /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. Then he got a call about a fight or something. He had to leave /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif but he told us to keep pouring. Well, we got this look in our eyes /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif, but hey, we were young and stupid /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. His parting words were, "If I catch you kids out here again later tonight, you'll regret it." /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif So, while we didn't pour the rest of the beer out, we did call it a night and went home, hoping he wouldn't phone the folks.
