Re:beenthere
Yes, Mike is correct, keeping the "greasy side down", is a term often used in the Male dominated world of aviation that refers to the grease/oil/fuel/ streaked bottom of the airplane being kept downward as a good thing. Why does the greasy side need to be down, because the pink squashy part (the pilot) up front in the cockpit (another male term) get's upset when it is the reverse and then has some explaining to do to his boss. Why is there a greasy side at all or why is it the bottom that has to be greasy?--why not the top?--the grease allows the airplane to slide more easily when the pilot forgets to put the gear down and that is why we lazy mechanics allow it to become greasy in the first place. This makes the boss happier than when the pilot lands upside down. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
