I have lotsa rocks. I tilled a plot and have lots on top and just below the dirt. Silly me, I thought that a rock rake would sift them out and leave the dirt behind. Instead, it just acts like a blade, pulling both. I tried removing every other tooth, and it was about the same.

The rocks are softball to melon sized sandstone. It is a basic King Kutter Landscape rake that I have borrowed...

Any pointers? Thanks!

set it to harrow sideways
it will move the rocks into a long string,
keep moving that string until it gets too big, then pick up the rocks and move them with FEL and continue

I have had the same thing happen to me before. If the soil is a little top damp it will tend to stick together. I was also trying to copmlete the whole task in one pass (impatient). After, I used the first pass to be moore agressive and pop them out of the ground. On the next pass, I angled the rake and set the 3pt so that I would only take a very shallow bite. This way I got mostly rock and only a little dirt. Hope that helps.
