Looking good CHDinCT......except for that broken tail light lens. ;)

Wow, good catch. I had a log slip off the table and crack the lens. Glued it up yesterday with some 5 min epoxy, but when I torqued it down, one end of the crack opened up on me, so I might have to order a new one.

OK, took some pic's yesterday of the splitter for E-B-C and JJ. Basically, the splitter uses a box in side a box architecture with the cylinder pinned to the outside, fixed box (blue) on one end and to the inner, sliding box (silver) on the rod end. The ram sits inside the inner, sliding box. The wedge is welded to the top of the inner box.

Thanks for posting. That should get things stewing in the 'ol noggin.

That is about how I figured it worked. I am trying to build something similar, but smaller for a limb cutter, that will be on the end of a boom poll.

OK Now I am as confused as a baby in a topless bar. I have very little hyd. knowledge so I need a simple answer to a complicated question LOL. I have a MF 165 I am building a log splitter and I have bench tested my cylinder with the in port of my valve hooked to the pressure line of my remote QD. I hooked the out port of said valve to the other QD line. I tied back the control lever on the valve to keep the flow circuit open and the cylinder worked both ways. A little slower than I expected an this may be because I have it plumbed wrong. So my question is this. Do I need the line coming from the out port of my valve on the splitter going somewhere other than the second QD line? If so where? And will the control arm of my remote being tied back like this cause an issue.

165masseyky,

You hooked it up correctly.

Your cycle time is related to the GPM's, and the cyl size.

Your pump flow is about 4.5 GPM, and you could decrease the extend time by half if you used the valve by Prince, LSR-3060 . It will take a 4 GPM and make it seem like a 25 GPM flow.

Otherwise, it will make the cycle time faster.

OK Kewl I ordered all the manuals for my tractor and looked it all over and did as much research as I could fit into my little pea brain and thought I had it right but was just wanting to get a for sure on it. Does that valve speed up return speed as well or only on extension?

No, only on extend.
