I finally got around to modifying a couple of old bent blades to see if this will work or be a flop. Now I need to wait for the grass/weeds to grow more. That shouldn't take too long!

That chain looks to light to be very effective and I would very concerned about those links pulling apart and becoming shrapnel.

I'll be giving it a try in a few weeks when I get back from some travels.

That chain looks to light to be very effective and I would very concerned about those links pulling apart and becoming shrapnel.
I agree, I think that twisted link will give it up easily. Would feel much better if it were welded chain instead and the thought of anyone considering/using cable is frightening when one considers flying bits of metal. In fact I seem to recall reading some place about how extremely dangerous using cable is.

Agreed. Chain comes in many hardness just like bolts. Use hardened welded chain. I used #7 hardness 3/8 chain for my BH conversion.
