Using the BX23 to bring in the spring rock harvest

With that big of a stump, can you actually drive away with the stabilizer arms retracted, or do you need some more ballast up front. For that matter, does anyone know the lift capacity of the BX23 hoe.

That's interesting in a historical sort of way - I remember learning as a kid that the soil around here was very rocky because the glaciers came thru and dropped everything when they retreated at the end of the ice age. A lot of the rocks I have pulled out are very nicely rounded off and smooth so that pretty much supports that theory. I never could remember however how far south they were supposed to have reached.

It's rated at 460 pounds.

Can't answer for Garrabo, I fill the loader bucket with wet clay and maybe even a couple rocks as ballast.
I don't know that there is a spec for the hoe lifting capacity ... I really doubt Kubota intended it to be used as such. I think of it as undocumented functionality. (The loader capacity is spec'd @ 460#). The hoe's capabilities are dependant on geometry: The boom only lifts so much so high then I have to use the dipperstick. It lifts a lot! ... more than enough to make maneuvering real squirrely on uneven ground and just about enough to make you think twice about doing it again /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've been reading the spec sheets wrong all these years. This is wrong. Nevermind.
