When I was a young teenager my brother and I used to cut a lot of pulp wood. We worked on the farm and that was a way of getting spending money. Dad had an old chain saw that ran good when it ran but was hard to start.
One day we cut a pine across a big brush pile so my brother started the saw and cut the saw off and handed it up to me and I tried to start the saw and cranked and cranked, it wouldn't start. My brother said something about the saw being junk and I threw it on the ground from up on the pile.
A few days later dad asked if we wanted to cut a load of pulp wood and said he had everything on the truck. We got there and the two man cross cut saw was on the truck. We cut a cord and 1/4 that day in 5' long pieces with a cross cut saw. Dave It was not a nice way to spend time in the woods, it was just plain long WORK. We NEVER "cussed" dad's saw again that is for sure. Ed
