UTV Help

/ UTV Help #141
I would not purchase a UTV without EPS if it were available. I had it put on my Gator to get up to what I had on my Ranger. It makes ALL the difference.

It sounds like the CVT on the Polaris geared down with springs, weights or sheave diameter. We could never use the Gas model because of slipping/ burning belts so we went with the new 825i JD Gator. We use them for ski trail grooming (hard work at 5-10 mph) and for summer use. We used the Kubotas RTV's in the past but prefer the gas JD Gator with 50 HP.
I liked the engine in the 825 I test drove but boy was it hard to steer. Standing still, it simply did not want to move the wheels without a ton of effort. It badly needs power steering. Compared to it, the non-EPS version of Ranger seems like it has power steering! :)

We will have to check out the EPS version. Remeber we are running large Camoplast UTV tracks for most of the hours. We are typically turning as we move, not turning stationary, but none of the operators including myself have complained about the steering effort.
