Does any know of a vaccuum/shredder that my wife can use inside the house. I'm so... tired of
"Honey, somethings wrong with the vaccuum again!"

Each time it's because she is trying to vaccuum hugh pieces
of junk, paper, tissues, etc. etc.

Do you think one of those 5 hp lawn vacs would be to noisey?

DaveNH, just get her a set of ear protectors to go with it. The ones target shooters use should do it./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I'll have to admit to having wondered myself whether anyone made a vaccum cleaner that my wife couldn't break./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif She still says it wasn't her fault that the motor burned up on my shop vac while she was using it./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Bird, you sure you didn't see a new shopvac somewhere along the line that you wanted. and then set your wife up to burn the old one up? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Dave,
Sounds like you need one of those old style Filter Queen vacuums.
Man ole man those baby were great in there time.

I have a feeling you going to see a new vacuum soon. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Speaking of vacum cleaners! A few day ago Margie was vacuming the den and she had vacumed around the fireplace when a started to smell something burning that smelled like hair and lint. I ask Margie if she smelled something burning and about that time smoke started pouring out the top of her vacum cleaner. She had picked up a small live coal that had fallen from the fireplace. It would have been funny if it had not been so serious. She carried it outside and you should have seen her trying to get the flaming bag out of the cleaner. I was laughing my tail off!! jim

Jim,
I hope your wife never experience a vacuum blowing a hole in the bag as she was just about done vacuuming... /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gifwhat a mess. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

My wife thinks that the more noise a vacum makes, the more powerful it is. Hers sounds like a B29 on full military power. When she cranks that baby up I try to find something to do outside!! jim

Redhawk, believe it or not, this time I actually had the one I wanted, but I did learn a couple of things. First, it's cheaper to replace the entire motor assembly than to buy a new shop vac. Secondly, the part number in my manual had been discontinued and superceded by another number; the only difference being that mine said 2 HP and the new one says 3.5 HP (I think they're identical except for that number painted on there). And most importantly, mine had come with a foam rubber filter, covered by a paper filter, and I learned that they also now have available a much more expensive optional filter that looks like a big automotive type air filter cartridge that should filter out small particles much better.

And even though it burned up while she was vaccuming out her car, I'll have to admit it was probably due to the fact that it'd been used so much to draw the dust out my Cyclone Blaster cabinet when I'm using it, but I wouldn't tell her that./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
