Oh ya, I forgot to tell you how fast a dump cycle is. Back up, hop off the seat, pull latch and lift, push cart back to latched position, jump back in seat. All in about 10 to 15 seconds!

To reduce the on agian off again time, I may use the other cercuit of the loader control to make the cart dump hydraulicly. Stay tuned.

This is a shot of the hitch. Not really clear with the bright sun and cheap camera. My hitch bolts to the front of the cart frame using existing holes. Rear arms reach back to cross brace/hinge under cart. A hole is drilled for each arm to bolt to the cross brace.

Very cool design! I too have a 455 with the MC519 cart and was reluctant to go to anything bigger because of the loss of the collection system.

The one at Piedmont is by TracVac. It has an external engine. I'd vote for one worked off the PTO. We had an external engine one on a Sears tractor mower at our church in NJ. Horribly noisey rig. I fired it up once and shut it down pretty quickly. All I did on that 5 acre property with LOTS of big oak trees was chop the leaves up with the Scag mower that I had them get. I'd just run the Scag with discharge back to where I was going next turn until the engine was about to choke. Then I'd run around the other way for a turn ot 2 before turing back inward again.

I don't rake leaves nor collect them with equipment. I just steal from folks foolish enough to throw away a good compost resource and put them on my compost pile. Was tossing them yesterday with my bucket loader.

Looks good. I use a tow-behind lawn sweeper and that does a great job too. The collection system adaptation ytou performed is very good and looks good. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Funny you should ask this question just now, as I was about to post my latest creation. I previously owned a 445 with the PowerFlow system and the MC519 Material Collection dump cart. I loved the way it worked, and made Fall leaves effortless.

Fast forward. Moved. Bigger house. Bigger lot. Need bigger tractor. Upgraded to 2210 after a year of research. I really struggled between the X-series that can use the collection system, the 2210 with the new X-series deck, but no collection system and a 4110 with the old deck. Betting on the fact I could make it work, I bought the 2210 with the 62 MMM and the Powerflow head and MC519 spec-ed for an X-series.

Just this fall I designed and welded up a bolt on hitch that makes the MC519 cart I-match and 3pt compatible. Works just as great as it did on the 445, but now I can lift it 3ft in the air and dump on previous piles of clippings. You could not do this with the normal setup. I generally end up carrying the cart about 6 inches off the ground while mowing. The 2210 doesn稚 mind, and its not as hard on the cart. It does go up and down with the MMM, but that has not been an issue. I plan on designing an independent hydraulic cylinder to replace the push rod off the left 3pt lift arm which lifts the MMM. I would use one of the circuits off the loader control to lift the MMM, and the 3pt would be independent.

Anyhow, check out the photos and let me know what you think. Maybe for the right price, I could make you one too. I have been using it only with the 3pt links and not the I-match as it pushes the cart back another 4 and the chute is a little short, falling off when dumping. Genuine JD parts and no- clog performance, plus no bags to dump!

I had one made (not from the original poster) that followed this model with a MC519 cart for my JD 2305. It was about $200 to have the hitch made - I would guess that would be about 50% higher now with steel prices doing what they are.

I emailed the original poster - don't think he's active on the forums any longer as I never heard back.
