I doubt I will be able to find just the end so I think I will be buying a whole new shaft. So I have some PTO Shaft questions...
Is there any difference in shafts? The reason I ask is that when I compare 32" pto shafts via the internet - I get a range from $70 (Amazon and Northern tool - these guys sell a Braber brand) up to and over $200. Thanks for the help fellas.

I have been chipping with a Valby CH150 for many years. My current chipping tractor is an L5030hst, with 42+ pto HP.
A 6-inch diameter "log" is nearly too much for my machine at 540rpm- there is too much engine slow-down (and likely stalling if the log is long). This has never been a problem, as we consider material larger than 5" to be firewood.
I have a friend with the identical chipper behind a mid-20s hp CUT- he loves it,
but he does not chip 5" or 6" stuff! Just keep the blades sharp, bearings greased and maintain the belts- the CH150 is a hard-core machine.
Bottom line, though- do not plan to chip material as large as 6" with your smaller tractor- the chipper's capabilities must be matched by the tractor's power.

I put a call out to Northeast to see what they have in terms of the tractor side of the pto shaft - this way I know I am getting the right mate to what I have.
Branchchipper - I don't plan on chipping anything larger than 3-4 inches - I burn the rest. I bought some grease to repack the bearing and the blades are still pretty sharp for now....how do you maintain the belts other than keep them tight and out of the weather?
