The pic shows what you can get one for up here...Keep in mind that the 0% financing isn't free. I'm looking for a 3301 or something similar, and with the cash incentive on top of my down payment I can do just as well going through my CU. If (when) I pay it off early, I will come out ahead. Also, Kubota seems to have lowered their MSRP.
A 3901 speced out the way that I wanted it (Gear drive 4wd, R1 tires, skid steer loader) once listed for about $29000; the same tractor now lists for $26500. One dealer offered it to me for $23000 delivered to my door, but doesn't have it in stock.
Thanks that helps even though it shows non hst (mybe $1000?) more for hst. Are there two loader options? Mine has grill guard but I tried to build on kubota site and it had two loader options.

A dealer (car, tractor, whatever) is always going to offer 20% or so below market value. They need to make money reselling it. 20% depreciation driving it off the lot isn't uncommon for cars either.

So, what's the dealer's number? Like 12 grand or so? That's brutal, but they have to make a few grand for it to be worth their while.

Depreciation is a reality whether you sell it or not. Take the hit and get the tractor you want / need. It only hurts for a minute. A private party sale will get you more than they offered if you are willing or able to do that.

I have a 2013 BX25D TLB with 120 hours that sells new for around $19,500+tax in todays current BX23. I talked to my local Kubota dealer about trade, they said $13,500-$14,000. He said he would throw it on the lot at $16,000 and take $15,500... or he sugested that I can try to sell it myself for $14,500 or $15,000.

Just tossing some numbers out as another measurement point for percentages.

^^ Those numbers make sense to me.

One problem is that the low hour used tractor is competing against new, and new is available with low rate financing. You are looking for the guy with 15 grand in his pocket which is a lot harder to find than a guy that can pay 300 per month.

11,000

Plan on private party but I'm going to use it more since 70-150 hours make no difference in value it looks like.

Yea that new finance small monthly payment is hard to complete with. I paid cash and thought most do too but was wrong.
Thanks all for the great info and responses

I'm used to cars.
My Subaru Outback and toyato 4x4 hold their values so good used financed sells for higher than new most of the time.
I could sell either and come out ahead. I got kubota for that very reason I thought too.

Yeah - Kubota is typically the leader in retaining value. I think that you would find that the machine will depreciate over a period of years, and then begin climbing in value. At one point, due to the value of the dollar and the price of new ones, you will see the value cross (or nearly cross) the amount you paid for it brand new.

I've seen this with tractors from 8-20 years old.

A good low-hour used brand name tractor can often be worth more than you paid for it.

That said, the dealer is really cutting you deep on their offer. I think you can sell it for somewhere around 14k, which is certainly better than most of the other machines in it's class could hold.

I wish I could get that setup for 14k here, that would be a 16-17k tractor on the used market in my area.

Maybe asking price. I have my doubts that the actual selling price would be so close to new. Lots of these things are regional, though.
