Just to compare some valves. The valves on the PT will leak down, as every one has found out. Put your bucket as high as you can and turn the engine off. Usually by the next day, the bucket is on the ground. It has been said that PT selected these valves for this reason. I have always thought that good quality hydraulic valves should not leak down or very little. I installed a joystick valve on the backhoe that I am building, and raised the boom up in the air, over two weeks ago, it is still in the same position. That says something for those valves. The only way to get around those leaking valves, is by installing check valves. Some of the better valves come with check valves, to hold the cylinder in place.
