Most lubricants manufacturers that make a diesel engine oil in 15W/40 also make it in 10W/30. It isn't as rare as some may think. It's just a little more dificult to find the 10W/30 in some areas. Often all you need to do is "ask" at the parts store and they can get it for you if they don't carry it. You can also order it over the phone from most specialty lubricants manufacturers and have it delivered to your door.
Thats absolutely true..it IS made for sure....BUT..

When I wanted to get some 10W-30 Rotella...NO ONE in the cincinnati area stocked it...NOT EVEN the distributors...they they werent about to special order a case or two from the refiney!! Same way with Chevron syn THF. Best stuff "spec-wise" I could lay my hands on...only problem was the ONLY distrubutor in the cincy area for it...had to order 1500 gallons at a time! Needless to say..Im not using it!!

My take on Valvoline goes back many years to when I raced sports cars. When I used Valvoline oil I found deposits in the bottom of the oil pan. When I used Kendall I found no deposits.

Just this morning I saw Texaco 10w30 diesel oil in the local Parts Source, a division of Canadian Tire which is auto parts alone, not the sports equipement etc that Canadian Tire has. Texaco stations disappeared in Canada years ago, I can't remember who bought them out. But I still see Texaco lubricants here and there.

Also, check out Amsoil. This is what I'm going to use at my initial 50 hour service on the GC2310.

Well my mind is more at ease reading all your response's.
I would use Kubota oil but the dealer is 20 mile away and the Napa store is 5 minute's.
I don't know if this is correct but I was told that the Kubota branded oil is really Valvoline so that is what started my search.

Kubota oil might be made by Valvoline AND other companies as well.
I once did a search on Hytran and found at least 4 different companies making the stuff....

Interesting observation on the debris in the oilpan after using Valvoline. I roadrace motorcycles and after running close to a year of endurance races, and then a 24 hour race (unexpectedly needed the bike to run the race after breaking a frame on the A bike in the first hour) in 110 degree heat of the california desert, our Suzuki motor was in great shape. No bearing deterioration, no crank wear...the motor looked great. I have been a Valvoline fan every since and have been running Valvoline in my Toyota truck that has 235,000 miles on it. I guess each situation needs to be considered individually.

I asked a similar question about how to find 10w-30 diesel rated oil so I agree with one poster, Kubota needs to update their manuals!

Valvoline 15w-40 is a great oil, I use it myself. Valvoline has been making this oil for many years.Any oil that says ashland oil co. on the bottle is valvoline. The valvoline name is just that, a name. I use valvoline in all my vehicles, and never a problem.

I also have used Premium Blue 15w-40. Also use Rotella T 5W-40 synthetic. Depends on what store has on the shelf when I go in. Local Walmart here sells both.

I have a B7610 @ 100 hours, The book calls for 10w-30 and I am considering
using Valvoline Premium Blue 15W40. Anyone using Valvoline oil? Should I stick to 10w-30?
Thanks

Just to ask... the book calls for 10W-30. What is the reason you want to switch to 15W40? Just curious.

because its EZier to find. LOL.

you have a choice if you use 15W40 diesel engine oil, not many with 10w30 diesel rated.

I've always been of the opinion some manufacturers spec unusual weights of oil in order to trick you into buying it from them, as they are the only vendor of that particular type of oil.

you know there is a good markup in the stuff, just look at the price difference between the bargain no name stuff and regular name brands.... never mind looking at what may be termed Boutique Brands or Weights that only come from specialty places. AMSOIL comes to mind.

my New Holland specs 10w 30 Desiel engine oil, only place I could find it was at New Holland dealer... surprised? not really. do I use 10W30 in the NH... NO, 15w40 is justas good. we are talking 5 points on the viscosity index and 10 on the top end.

BMW spec 10 W 60 in some of their cars... try and find that oil anywhere but BMw.

Harley Davison specs the use of oil which meets the HD 360 rating... only one comapny makes the stuff.... Harley. LOL.

see where I'm coming from?

No. :p

I just don't see the people who write the manuals sitting around with the marketing people trying to figure out how to write the manual so they sell more oil. You give them far more credit for coordination than they deserve, or what's possible, in a large corporation.

Anyone who'd be 'tricked' into buying from a mfgr or a specialty oil seller is an order of french fries short of a happy meal.
