Both are good oils. Out of warranty, I'd use either.
Only distinction I knew of was the last time I looked at premium blue it was approved by Cummins for extended oil changes. That only matters if you do extended oil change intervals (most guys don't, on personal trucks), and have a Cummins.
Shell markets T6 as a fleet oil. I find the datasheet (above link) for Blue a bit confusing, as they describe it rated for " CJ-4/SN".
I'm not familiar with a modern diesel requirement for a combined CJ-4/SN rating, but I don't drive a new diesel. I'm not sure if that is a specialized spec, or Blue is actually full SN rated for gasoline, and Valvoline just prefers to market it as Diesel :confused3:
As a fleet oil, one of the things I like about T6 is I can safely use it in pretty much everything I own, gas or diesel. Including my street-bike, as it is JASO MA rated. (Nothing against Valvoline; I just don't know it as well, and it is harder to find, esp. up here).
