I can understand a respect wildlife but, sometimes we don't realize how overrun some areas can be with certain species, and I do mean overrun.

Rox, I sure like your signiture ... I have a bunch of attachments too BUT I know what they're supposed to do BUT GETTING them to do what I want them to do is a wholly different story.
It sounds like you have quite an adventure going on in your life ... cool !

NewToy ... ... I have to admit that after being challenged on the point of whether my varmint life extinguishing episode was justified because I, erroneously, thought it was a property destroying pocket gopher, resulted in my discovery that the poor fella was just a vole aka meadow mouse, I am just SICK about my violent actions. ... fantasy is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

I wouldn't get sick about it, misidentification of small rodent species is fairly common. It'll get better, fantasize it was all a bad dream.

Those pocket gophers are real dangerous critters. When I was in Kalifonistan, my neighbors wife took a baseball bat to one, and the next week my 3 year old came in the house yellin' monster, monster. He'd evidently spotted another in her yard. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I tried to limit my slaughter to Columbian ground squirrels, in those days and genuine pasture griz (woodchucks) now. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

OH, a left coast resident in a past life! Let me guess, you don't much regret leaving Kalifornistan huh? It just seems to get crazier each day here. ... though, so do I. Maybe that's why I stay.
Ain't much more fun that plugging ground squirrels. I killed ALL of mine some years ago ... waiting for them to repopulate now /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
