Vegetable garden over powerline ???

I work for a power company. The National Electric Safety Codes Specifies that services will be a minimum of 24" below grade. If it's not then the power company is in violation and they must lower it or face fines. Get a locate done before you dig, grab a shovel and dig down 12" somewhere along the marked path. if you find nothing, no worries. If you find conduit or wire, then call the power company and tell them they have created an unsafe condition and that you want it fixed immediately or you will call the county. They will fix it pretty quick trust me.

Good input. I'm calling the locator service today.

I had an operator come out today to give an estimate for excavation.

I'm going to start a new thread from this point. I'll put a link here when it starts.

Here's the link to the new thread. Excavation is all done now. The powerline runs through the middle of the "upper pad", lengthways. Lots of photos over there.
