I will look into cutting down the roller and cutting the brackets to reposition them to accept the VT. outer ends to eliminated the problem. The other way would be to buy a VT. roller complete and adapt it to the Steiner deck………. jim

If I were you if consider selling it or trading it on a ventrac deck. Its too new a unit to hack up, and you'll have alot of time and money in it

I don't think i would have more than the outer rollers, the rest i can make. I do have my own mig welder, lathe and a milling machine, not much i can't make. ….. jim

I sure wish I had your tools! For the average do it yourselfer or home mechanic, it doesn't make sense to do...Many repair shops don't even have your machine tools.

RD, What i do with them is build some of the best rifles and shooting equipment in the world……… so working on the roller and to modify it to accept the VT roller ends is fun….. and it isn't close tolerance at all, at my age it's therapy ……. lol…. jim

Interesting, probably a good number of shooters here. I have a Pard that is or has tried to entice me into longer range shooting, a skill I have never developed. He (Jack Christian) and his pal (John Boy) shoot around the country, but not sure of the venue. He asked me to consider meeting-up with them in Buffalo, NY area or maybe it was Erie, PA this Spring, maybe Father's Day or such. But, I am not into that so much. 100 yards seems far to me. I know they are fond of black powder lever action rifles as that is where they have been helping me (coaxing me).

Oh man..I'm jealous, you definitely have a steady hand, I find it difficult to hold steady at half that yardage..i have a Belgium built browning 300wmag, it's very effective at 500, still has lots of punch. ...as long as I can hold it on target. .

RD, Get on accurate shooter and click on IBS and you will find 4 of my 5 records in a little write up they did…….. I only shoot 6 and 6.5 mm's and very small cases nooooo mags. The 6 will shoot in 2" range at 1000……… jim
