WOW

As the state agency said the switch to Fair Point will save money and have much more faster modern "service"

Been paying the bill on line for years with Verizon. now get this new fangled bill from Fair Point.

''An Important Notice Regarding On line Account Management
To maintain your security and privacy, we're unable to offer on line bill pay and bill view while we transition your account to Fair Point. Beginning April 2008, you'll receive a printed bill in the mail each month. Please make your check payable to Fair Point Communications. ''

Geeze

unreal they cant offer on line payments like they used to. but they can go on and on about this FIOS>

Sorry for the rant, just so annoying these company's..
I have been lookin up on the net on this old concept of writing a check, placing it in an envelope and then one of those little things ya lick and put the whole thing in a blue box on the street corner.
seems me bill just went up.LOL Hmm do they have a business spot to pay it?
still on hold now 20 minutes, lol you'd think they would have a NH bases or satellite office.
Has anyone used the phone service through the cable companies or the net?

Progress gotta love it
Al

I feel your pain ! Strangely, these changes our politicians assure us are better for us...... rarely are ! Guess we'll see how this change-over goes.I'm not terribly optimistic.

Strange that Verizon is getting out. ????

Pay your bills through your bank's online bill pay services rather than at each vendor's website and you may not have this problem.

According to the FairPoint web site

FairPoint plans to implement a paper-free billing system for customers once all systems are transferred from Verizon to FairPoint which is expected in early fall.

I am optomistic. This is a business that Verizon didn't want, so do you think they were sending their best managers here? Maine has be fining them regularly for poor quality service, and they don't correct it, they just pay the fines.

This is business that Fairpoint wants and I think we'll get their best effort. I don't have a high speed connection available, but now I figure I have a fighting chance that they'll upgrade the infrastructure.

Might be a good thing... I had online service that pulled their monthly fee from my checking account each month $9.95 each month if I remember right? Just before they went under, they drained my checking account for over $600.00 bucks!

Ok just talked to someone. they have NO offices in NH
They can offer me sat television lol
She almost said thanks for calling Verizon but caught herself.
And yes possible in the fall the site will be up and running, I told her that at this point i surely would be expanding my services.
This whole thing wouldn't be a problem but the politicians assured the public a smooth transaction.
Guess I should be happy they are even in the US>LOL

these stories are why we try to use the direct site, they are only authorized to withdraw a one time payment. and no more. and one time payment is each month when I pay... this 'crossing' of terms gives you that protection If say discover takes 10 cents more than was authorized, they will be in trouble.unless I had approved that amount. By having direct deductions you run some risk, for example. my electric was misread once. big time. and I read it myself to see this. luckily I was paying with a check so it wasn't a problem , but had there been an automatic deduction it would have gotten fixed, but with some inconvenience.
for me the inconvenience of dealing with each site is very minimal. very.
