I read this article yesterday where kubota is teaming up with versatile to enter the large tractor market . Very interesting

This and some other thing's I've read really indicate Kubota's "all in" going for the big ag market.

It doesn't surprise me.. "somebody" needs to kick JD in the arse & knock'm down a peg or 3..
Their prices are outrageous..
Kubota needs to beef-up their welds tho.. & THAT might kill'm if they don't..
Kinda like GM & their 5.7L diesel..

Well Kubota already holds market share over John Deere in the "up to 70 h.p." class. I don't think anyone will over take JD in the big stuff though. Maybe Case/IH?

But very good to see Kubota expanding. I guess we will now see a Cummins powered Kubota.

And glad to see they picked Versatile to team up with. Hopefully this will be good for both of them.

Im sure they will do OK in Midwest and up north . I saw my first versitile tractor on a semi last year traveling thru town. Had to google the brand because I had never heard of them, JD and NH/ CASE will continue to be the choice here

Versatile has been a long time user of Cummins power. But they have an interesting combination you would never thought you'd ever see.....a Cummins motor with Caterpillar auto transmissions.

Seeing as how Cat and Cummins were competitors......that is the problem that exists in the trucking world with transmission manufacturers like Eaton. The engine manufacturers don't give them full access to all their electronic programming. So their AMT's had a longer time to catch up in performance compared to say an I-Shift because Volvo/Mack makes their own engine and transmissions so they can be better integrated.

Back in the 70's or 80;s I worked a big dam job inCo. where they used Versatile articulating tractors to pull a disc in the clay core part of the dam, they also used one to pull a Bee Gee,which was a big blade used to maintain haul roads.
They were good dependable machines with lots of power.
