Thank youPax Domini, my friend.
Sorry I didn't see this sooner, I've been offline for awhile.
I'll remember her at Mass on Saturday night.
My best friend and 35 year companion died today. My wife fought ALS for five years and was lively up until yesterday. She said she was tired, went to sleep yesterday evening, and passed today. I was able to have a priest give her last rites late last night and she was happy to see him. Going forward, everything is a fog for me now. We’ve known that her disease was terminal, but still it hits hard.![]()
My greatest fear with inoperable cancer is how long do I have before the end. Least my wife is healthy and if it wasn't for her and taking care of me and watching me like the hawk she is, I'd be in the ground long ago. I feel for you. Loosing a person you've been with that long is always devastating. My best friend and 35 year companion died today. My wife fought ALS for five years and was lively up until yesterday. You and I are kind of on the same wavelength anyway and we are both 'old timers' on this site. I guess when I don't post anymore, the cancer has gotten the best of me and I'll be 'up there' hopefully, watching but not posting anything. Wish I lived closer, I'm sure you could use some company. Thanks for your kind words
I’ve been very busy with arrangements and took this week off work. Funeral is next Saturday. Between arranging the funeral mass and all of the other things it has kept me busy. But the evenings are rough. I’ll be ok, then 10 minutes later it hits me again. I’m actually looking forward to all the family and friends coming for the funeral. It will be a full church and that’s a tribute to how well she was liked. I try to stay active here and active doing outside chores because being preoccupied is important. Thanks so much for asking. It's been a week; how are you doing?
It's good to see that you have been active on TBN; please continue to, and please continue to take care of yourself.
