Tractor
Kubota BX2200
Well, they brought my tractor home last night. It was in the low 30's so I left it sit outside and this morning I held the glowplugs for 5 to 10 seconds and she started right up. It runs so much better then before. I think I never noticed any thing wrong because it was down on power since new. Kubota thinks the rings for some reason never broke in. They tould me not to baby it at all, break it in like Im going to use it. Full throttle and use her hard. Kubota did pick up the bill for every thing to do with the motor. I think all my calls to Ohio and Cal. helped there. The Dealer charged me 140.00 for every thing else. They put in a Block Heater, and changed my hyd. oil and filter. I am very pleased with that. Thanks for all the support, even the negative, Now I hope it snows so I have somthing to do. tmcd.

Glad that it turn out well for you Todd.

$140.oo for the extra's isn't a bad price either.

Work it hard..full throttle..like the old saying goes"Ride it like you stole it"

Todd,

Sorry for any negative response. Sometimes a group of people or an individual can come to wrong conclusions and indite someone on circumstantial evidence. Remember the vigilantes from days gone by? I'm as guilty as anyone for saying things that I am later sorry for, ask my wife. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

I'm sure glad your problem has been resolved without costing you a small fortune. Now maybe you can enjoy your BX and use it the way it was meant to be used. I know from personal experience how frustrating it can be to buy something new and then it has problems or doesn't perform the way it should. When you put out hard earned green backs for something you have certain expectations. When it doesn't meet those expectations it can bring your morale and confidence in a product or company down to a new low. Hopefully this episode will not repeat itself and you and the rest of us tractor owners will have many hours of quality tractoring and good will toward men, "women too".

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Sounds great, Todd.

I'm sometimes a little reluctant to say so because I don't want to tell anyone to do anything different from what the manufacturer says to do, but that's the way I've always broken in all motors. I think a lot of people worry too much about the break in period. Of course, I do believe in varying the RPMs instead of holding a steady speed for awhile, but otherwise just put it to work. In my younger days, I found out what the top speed was on every vehicle I bought within 24 hours of buying it; never blew an engine and never owned an oil burner./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I'm with Bird on the break in. I have always broken mine in just like he has. I can say that I have also never had a oil burner or had one blow up. If you don't work the engine hard enough to seat the rings in the beginning it is really hard if not impossible to do later. There is a way to go ahead and seat the rings in a car but it would be much hard in a tractor.

TODD: glad they got u all fixed up. frustrating as all hell when you buy something new and it don't work/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif but at least they made it right. now if it be snow you are looking to move, just bring her on down i got plenty, you can plow and i can sit in the house with a cup of coffee and watch/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

forgot to mention, on the break in period, work it hard but vary the rpm's .

"There is a way to go ahead and seat the rings in a car "

Please tell me how to break in a new car and seat the rings. You see we got a new Isuzu Rodeo and the wifey doesn't get the rpm's over 2800 even on starts so I am alittle baffled if this is bad or good. Thanks

Darin
