Kubota BX2200
I made a post a couple of weeks ago about having problems with my local Kubota dealers and I want to thank all of you who replied, It helped. Now, let me blow your minds. My problem was my BX2200 would not start when it got cold,[under 40 degrees]. Not a big problem I thought,so I called a local dealer and they said they would check it out. I had them install a block heater thinking that would help. They have had the tractor 2 weeks and they called me today with the bad news. The motor has very low compression and they need to tear it down to find the problem. I said fine because it is under warranty. Heres the SHOCKER!!!. He told me Kubota very seldom covers any motor problems under warranty. WOW! I have babied this tractor since new. It has 200 hours on it and this summer since we had a drought I didnt even use it that much. I am so mad I dont know where to turn. I have done the mantenance on the tractor better then required and even kept in the garage where my truck should have been. It is a shame you spend that much money on somthing and they will not stand behind it. I love the tractor and I hope I can afford to get it fixed.

You need to call Kubota, explain the problem, tell them who the dealer is, and they might say to go to a dealer they suggest. To determine low compression, the injectors would have had to be taken out and compression on each cylinder taken with a gauge. If indeed the compression is low Kubota should install a new engine and not repair yours. How do you know if the glow plugs are working properly or have a fuel delivery problem? For the dealer to say Kubota does not warrant their engines sounds stupid. The answer from the dealer should have been that Kubota has very little engine problems. I would complain to Kubota about the low compression problem even if it was over 2 years old. I hope your post is legitimate-it's too early to be April fools. Sounds ridiculous.

I'll also recommend you call Kubota direct to pursue this. I have the feeling that you have more of a "dealer" problem than a "tractor" problem!

I was thinking the same thing. According to the profiles, this is his first post. Why did he change his username?

Also, I don't believe the author of the previous thread ever replied to any of the comments made by other TBN members. Perhaps he's just trying to stir things up a bit?

I am new to this computer thing and had to change my user name to post anything. Please, I need some help to get this problem addressed. I will even give my home phone number if that will help. Thanks.

According to the Owner's Warranty Information Guide
the drive train on a BX is cover for 36 months.
The engine is covered for 36 months/2000 hours.

The guide is available on the Kubota web site.

If this is legit, the first thing I would do is tell the dealer to hold off on the teardown until we find out who is going to pay for it. If the dealer told me right from the beginning that Kubota wouldn't cover it before they even knew what was wrong, I would call Kubota. Call the number on the back of your operators manual that covers the part of the country you live in.
Instead of your phone number how about a little more information on your Profile?

Does Kubota have Regional Managers like Deere. Maybe you could get some help there. Good Luck.
