Veterans Day fast approaching

There are many veterans in the occupy movement (and two seriously wounded in Oakland {a lacerated spleen and a fractured skull} after surviving Iraq and Afghanistan). And I thank them for that service, especially.
Please read my comments that I posted on Page three-3 of the thread "Occupy Wall street coming to your town?" In my previous post I was referring to the factions that have infiltrated the movement and used it to stir up their own agenda that differs from the original purpose, thus causing problems and ultimate chaos.

Around two years ago, Scoot Olsen received an administrative discharge from the military.

What actions warrant an administrative discharge from the Marines?

Yes - they found out the occupy protesters were the ones that inflicted that wound.
Too bad the occupy (name here) dont realize (most of them dont) they are being led by communists.

I would like to add my thanks to all Veterans too, especially those who were in WWII. I was born towards the end of it and am grateful for what you did to allow me to grow up free. And even more especially I honour those young lads from the US who lost their lives in the D-day battles. Father was a coal miner and needed down the hole to keep the ships fuelled so he was not in it. The same for all my uncles.

An aquaintance of mine lost a leg in Iraq. I thanked him for his service one day when he was helping at a grade school activity. He moves pretty good on the artificial leg. Anyway, I'll never forget what he said to me, "You are worth it".

Thanks to all of you, Past....Present .......and Future.

Mike.... Sgt.... 325th General Hospital 5th Army 11th Corp but no combat.

I wonder if it would be better to keep this on the Veteran subject, rather than Occupy? The latter get enough ink.

I like to say "thank you" to real vets whenever I get the chance, or even send their table a beer.

I was a cold war "vet" in Germany (enlisted '77), and never really feel I deserved true Veteran status. I was honorably discharged etc. but no one was shooting at me.

Thanks to all who serve today!

Served a total of 23 years Air Force and Army. I joined in 1960, AF first and Army second. I did what I was told to do and asked for very little. Today the VA says I am totally disabled, Still I do what they tell me and ask for very little. The nightmares never go away. Proud to have been able to serve.

To the American service men and women, some of whom I've served with in Africa, South West Asia and all up and down the east coast to Iceland and the UK chasing Russian subs in the 80s, I hope you enjoy a peaceful Veteran's Day.

To the Canadian readers, I hope today, during our Remembrance Day, you take pride in our men and women who have served and are still serving around the world.

RCAF, 1981 to today.
