Crazy thought. While plowing a neighbor's garden this morning. Across the road a crew was using a ditch witch
to lay fiber. They had a sub soiler with the pto driven box that makes the rig shake for ease of plowing. Which
got me to thinking. As anyone done or thought of doing this for mold bold blow. I run a John Deere 4100 HST.
In theory that would make plowing some of the hard clay areas around here a lot easier. Thoughts?

They have made 3 point vibratory plows. i cant remember who. I install irrigation and use a burkeen b30 plow to lay the pipe. Now if you wanted to fabricate your own it wouldnt be too difficult , you need to find a donor machine for the vibratory unit . Now the good part , the machines can be found cheap , the shaker box is the least likely part to be bad . There isnt much too them , just 2 gears with weights on one side and bearings , and either a hydraulic motor or a shaft drive .

I was thinking simple as well. Perhaps a fixed shaft between two piller bearings..disk on the shaft with a weight on one side. PTO driver shaft connects to that shaft. Which reminds me,,I do have such a set up in my scrap shed...except the disk is a huge tuff plastic disk about 12" across and 3" thick..that with a bolted on weight to give it that shake might just work. afix it to a plate mounted opposite side of the mold board ( left ) just might do the trick..I only pull a single bottom 12" moldboard

I'm not sure a vibratory unit like on a Ditch Witch would work good on a tractor. With a Ditch Witch you are usually traveling at a slow speed, less than one MPH. You plow at a faster speed with a tractor so I am not sure it will vibrate fast enough to work on a tractor.

I'm thinking straight off the PTO should be enough and since the ground is broken every year it should give it just enough to get thru the occasional tuff spot. If I have the materials I will give it a try..just to see what the end result will be

It may work since you are just looking for a little help and not relying on the vibratory plow to do most of the work like a ditch witch.

I have one of the vibratory heads off a Case trencher.

I plan to make a vibrating post driver with it.

I don't know the brand, but at one time, they made a vibratory chisel plow. A local orchard had one here years ago they worked ground with, when planting a new block of trees.

It would be a rough ride on the tractor when its vibrating , I can sit on my burkeen on when its plowing , I dont do it often , the vibration is rather rough .
