No, sorry....that's the longest one I have.

Strange...... the YouTube version is now working for me. I'm impressed with how well it feeds itself !

pz,

Good video. It does take two people to keep up with the BX42!

I have one too, and have a comment/question about something apparent in the video:

Notice the angle your driveshaft is running at when the chipper is on the ground? My own personal theory is that the less angle on the U-joints for any attachement, the better. Therefore, I always throw down a couple of 4x4's under my skids before I lower it for work.

I'm thinking about modding the unit by permanently attaching some 4x4's to the skids. Another reason for this is that, when I lower the unit to the ground to detach it from the tractor (2520 with iMatch), I can't get the lower hooks of the iMatch low enough to disengage without putting 4x4's under the BX42.

Anyone else have this issue?

Oh yeah it does feed itself really well....especially (obviously) with more straight branches like ash trees. You can throw a 3" round piece in there and it'll suck it in and eat it up in no time!

Regarding the 4X4 boards on the bottom of the unit to keep it a little higher to avoid the angle on the drive...yes I've been thinking about that and we'll probably do that before too long. It works fine and connects up just fine but to me I think I'd rather have the shaft with a little less angle on it.

PZ,
This chipper is gravity feed only? Either way the chipper kicks butt.
You're going to have to get some editing software now and cut in some closeups and different angles.

Then there's the director's commentary and the blooper reel.

How much did the Wallenstein set you back?

I was quoted 2995 in Southern Oregon. 350 to ship 410 miles, but I coud pick it up myself and save the freight. Probably 80 bucks in fuel and one day on the road.Throw in a cheesburger and chocolate shake on the way home and I'm looking right at under 3100.

Yes it's gravity only. The 4 large blades do a good job at pulling it in once it grabs on to it. Good reason to keep your hands away from the blades!....seriously.

I'll try to get some different and closer angles as soon as I have the chance.

As far as the bloopers go, I guess so far there's only branches bouncing around and scraping my face when I get too close :)

We bought it at a rural John Deere dealer for right around $3,000.

Nice chipper, and easy to feed with it being so low. I hope you have ear plugs I can't see in the video. It's a drag not to hear your grandchildren...

I wear my chainsaw helmet when I feed the chipper. That way I get hearing protection and eye protection and every time a branch smacks the side of the helmet I am thankful that I have it on.

Jim

I had those little ones that push into your ears....it's hard to see in the video.
