My plank vinyl from Lowes has started shrinking. Now I have gaps all over the place. Didn't have gaps when installed.

this is what concerns me, how long did it take to shrink? Ive been a part of sheet vinyl many times and I know if its seemed after a while it will shrink some but never worked with the planks, which seems even thinner than regular sheet vinyl.

Only took a couple of years to see the gaps.

I was in Lowes yesterday and noticed for the first time that they have a new version of vinyl flooring that looks pretty good. Shaw made one brand, which has a good reputation. And I think Mohawk made the other brand they had there. With flooring, I always go with a name brand, and both of those are good brands.

For my garden kitchen that I'm building, I will look there when comparing to Allure at Home Depot before buying.

I have had the Allure brand from HD in my kitchen for 5 years now. Even with abuse from many cats & dogs it looks as good today as when installed. No shrinking & easy to install.

We installed the 12" square vinyl with grout in our kitchen about four years ago. Only complaint is my fault. Some of the staples in the underlayment were not driven deep enough. The head caused a bubble in the vinyl tile that eventually led to a divot of vinyl coming off the tile. Hard lesson to learn because the tiles are nearly impossible to pull off the underlayment for replacement.
