W R Long electric hydraulic Valve set up

I was wondering if anyone has used this setup. I have spoken with the mechanic who works on my BX24 and he thought that these types of valves use too much power and would strain my electrical system. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Also anyone recomend were to pick up on of these W R Long kits. I call the 2 listed dealer here in MA and got no answer about pricing.

I have been doing a lot of reading about the Long Electric over hydraulic valve as I will be purchasing one, and can find nothing that suggests that it draws anything but a small amount of electricity. It is not a motor driven hydraulic pump/valve (which would draw significant current) but an electric switch controlled valve that gets it's hydraulic power from your tractor's hydraulic system. I do not believe your electrical system will even notice it is there.

Do a TBN search for WR Long and you will get a great deal of information about these valves. The only issue I have been able to find about these valves is that they are a bit pricey...otherwise only good things.

Think my valve is wired into a circuit with I think a 15 amp fuse, you use it for short time only, nothing more than 5 seconds to close grapple all the way.

There are LOTS of people with them-a simple search of the site will show you that.

And your mechanic does not know what he is talking about...
