Wacky gift boxes (a.k.a. very nice ones)

I have a neighbor who spares no expense for his grandkids. One year, he ordered 20 hooded jackets and got a double order of 40.:confused2: He called the seller and they said they had no record of a double shipment and he should just keep the merchandise. His credit card was never charged for the overage.

This year, he was in Walmart and fell in love with the ammo boxes. in this link. He decided that they would make perfect gift boxes.:thumbsup: So, he bought all 10 the store had and then went back a week later and bought 10 more for his 20 grandkids. He loaded them all with goodies and gifts just as you would a gift bag. Can you imagine 20 of these under a tree?

What have you seen used as a gift box? One time, my wife filled a garbage can with boxes of disposable diapers and house care products as a gift for her oldest son. One halloween, I fixed a cowboy boot as a Texas trick-or-treat bag.

We had a gift exchange at work. Someone wrapped a gift card in a small box inside a bigger box inside a bigger box, etc... to the tune of about a dozen boxes inside boxes. The first box was washing machine sized!

My wife is getting a paper towel holder in the box that a 24" monitor came in. She is also getting a salad spinner in the box that a laptop came in and a meat tenderizing hammer in another similar box...
Edit: Hopefully she doesn't use the meat tenderizing hammer on me

Usually something that I bought and the box was either garbage or just the right size for a gift. I used a Coors 30 pack box to put Karens new jacket in before wrapping it. Does that count?

Just tonight my nephew got a pair of jeans in a Toy Story backpack my wife got him when he was 5. He's twenty now. It also had a Barney in it, you know the purple dinosaur. His sisters present was in a box below her Easy-Bake Oven. She's 23 now.
My sister in law got her present in a large Milkbone Dog Biscuit box.
Another nephew who is 9 and into archery will get new arrows tomorrow in a tube made from three Pringles cans.

I've been wishing for a nice socket and ratchet set in a nice $800 gift-box/toolbox, but I'm not holding my breath.
