I bought a new L3400, HST, & loader. I looked for years, and found botas 5 years old were running within 2 or 3K of new. 0% financing made it a no brainer.

Exact same experience I had, I ended up buying new.

More dittos. I had been looking for most of last year. Everything I came accross was either beat to death (or at least looked that way) or within $1-2000 of new. Kubota has the 0% and also has $500 off the closeout models. I bought the last L3400 my dealer had yesterday. Doesn't mean you want luck out and find a good used buy tomorrow but spring is here and I needed a new tractor.

Which is the reason that I asked the original poster if he was paying cash or financing.
In these economic times there are surely some low hour units out there to be had, but you have to figure out whether a cash deal on used or a zero finance deal on new makes more financial sense in the long run.
I once bought a new Ford truck where the catch was to use Ford financing. Lower interest rates could be had elsewhere, but Ford knocked more money off the truck if you used their financing. In the long run, financing a lower amount at Ford's slightly higher rate meant a lower overall cost in the end. Sometimes you have to do the math to figure out what will benefit you in the end.

I searched the internet for bank repo's ... I found a tractor that fit my needs for about 50% of new value ... low hrs, transferable warranty .. may be an option for you. This process took about 60 days.

I would check with Barlow tractor and see what they have new and or used and compare the savings. They have excellent prices on new and used Kubota tractors. Here is the link. Barlow Tractor I have bought both used and new tractors and used equipment from them. I have never met Brady but have talked to him on the phone a bunch of times. Good people to deal with.

I wrote a couple thrads about buying our tractor. If you want more details, you can search threads started by my name.

We bought used. The price we paid included everything in my signature except the grapple. We paid 50% of the new price. I bought it with 450 hours, and I now have something less than 600 hours. Absolutely no regrets.

It took me 3 months to locate EXACTLY what I wanted. I only limited my search to the continental US.

I located the buyer on Used Tractors For Sale at TractorHouse.com: John Deere Tractors, used farm tractors and farm equipment, tractors for sale, Case IH, New Holland, Agco, Kubota. We established contact. I then contacted and asked their local dealer questions about the Seller. The seller transported the tractor and implements to his local dealer who completed service and make-ready and oversaw loading onto a semi-truck that I arranged. I wired the seller payment on the day before the purchase was loaded onto the truck. I obtained a shipping quote from a trucking broker listed on the tractorhouse.com website plus a quote from a trucking company referred by the seller's local dealer. All was trucked 2000 miles to me in 3 days. Absolutely no regrets.

I agree with this. I've bought twelve from Barlows. Great prices and great people.
