Great place up there. I really like it in the winter. We get so much snow in the hills in the winter. Blackflies are bad up there now, tried to dig a new gravel pit with the tractor a they drove me indoors.

They can ruin an otherwise nice evening, that's for sure. At least now we've had a few days of hot weather - that usually knocks them down. Now the mosquitoes move in!

They only good thing about blackflies is they go away at night. They do seem to go to ground when its really hot. They were really bad this weekend, they were getting stuck on me when I was changing the oil. I looked like I'd been sprinkled with pepper

Boy, it was a long time ago and I don't recall specific names other than Cape Breton and Halifax. I was motorcycle touring/camping and drove up from Boston to PEI then to Cape Breton then meandered down the coast to Halifax and then west and back up north to retrace my route back home. Spent about 10 days as I recall mostly along the coasts. Lovely country, lovely ride, lovely girlfriend. I'd do it again sometime but my wife would probably object to my looking up the old girlfriend.
