A 55-yr. old tractor operator was killed yesterday about 15 miles from my home. The particulars are these. He was found about 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the bottom of a creek bank. He had been bush-hogging a field. When he didn't show up at home a co-worker went back to the field and spotted his friend's company truck. The co-worker thought that his friend had driven the tractor home. Therefore they did not find him until the next morning. DeSoto County Coroner Jeffery Pounders said Campany and the co-worker had been cutting a creek bank that was heavily over-grown with kudzu. It was ruled accidental. No word if the tractor had a rops or if a seat belt was involved.

I know there are times when I go a little beyond the safe limits just to get a little closer or finish the job a little quicker. The article didn't say how this fellow went over the bank but being nearly the same age I figure it was one of those just a little closer things.

I know after hearing stories of accidents like this one I am a little more careful for a while.

Thanks for the reminder but it is too bad someone lost their life in the process.

Sorry to hear about death. Nice reminder to be careful. I hope he did not suffer.

It's always sad to hear about these types of accidents.

Kudzu can hide alot of obstacles during growing season including the edge of a bank.

Another obstacle illusion no doubt
