Wal Mart Super Tech Diesel Oil

I was at Wally World today and was looking at their selection of diesel oils. Just wandering if anyone knows what company supplies their Super Tech Diesel oil. I figured it is one of the major brands. (Real good price in the 2 gal container).

Can't verify it, but had a long time employee of the Wal Mart here tell me their brand oil was recycled oil. I'll take his word on it.

Mercedes Benz installs rerefined oil in every new car manufactured in Germany.

Manufactures allow the use of rerefined motor oils as long as it meets the API Performance classifications and SAE viscosity grades that they recommend. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

The saying of the oil people that is suppose to know is,"oil don't wear out, it just gets dirty". They might be right, I remembe an old truck driver told me years ago, they just felt the dip stick and if it still felt oily, they kept it in, till it didn't. I would rather buy an oil, that I believed was new myself, but of course what you don't know may not hurt you.

They likely contract out to the lowest bidder from time to time. I wouldn't count on the supplier always being the same.

Hi Rick,

I don’t know who the supplier for WalMart branded diesel engine oil is, and I’m sure you won’t have any problem using the SuperTech diesel brand in your unit… however the difference in a “national name” brand you will recognize is only a nickel or two more per quart… /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

(Our local WalMart pricing per gallon: SuperTech $5.38, Quaker State $5.68, Pennzoil Longlife $5.77, Mobil Delvac 1300 $5.88, Chevron Delo 400 $6.17, Shell Rotella $6.27)

Discussion of Oils & grease can become quite personal on the TBN and
I don't want to fuel more debate and /or criticism but , IMO, after spending over $22K for my TLB, saving less than 99 cents per oil change
on the no name brand oil does'nt appeal to my better judgement.

This issue was not that I was trying to save a couple of dollars. I am a outdoor equipment dealer and use a large amount of 30 weight oil annually. My supplier informed me that I was paying $1.29 per qt for the same oil bottled for them (with there name on it ) that would cost me $.99. Now it makes good sense to me that if I can get the same product and pay $.30 a qt less it would be the thing to do. Why would the same thinking not apply to diesel oil that I also plan to using in large quanities? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
