Go for it! Have mine (BX42) on my GC 2300 the past 2 years, full time in the summer, never had to sharpen, also makes a good ballast weight for the fel.

Good info, for sure. Still checking brands, prices, local suppliers, shipping rates, and so on. I see the Wally moving to the top of the heap, but I'd be lying if I said price was not an issue:eek:

Thanks for getting back about the chippers. I spoke with Woodward Crossing in PA. Anyone here do any dealing with them? Waiting to hear back on shipping cost, sounds like they have a good price on the BX 42. I am still checking out my options...

Bob

Bought one from them about 1 month ago, very good company to deal with. Shipping was very fast, did not need to adjust it at all, it was all set up except for the chute and the hopper. Very happy. If you want to see one Im right outside Old Town.

That's reassuring, buying from someone that was just "found" online can get a bit iffy. Karen from Woodward is gonna call today with a shipping quote. I may take you up on the offer to check it out, too. What tractor do you have?

A hydro feed in outta my price range, for sure. I am not familiar with the Super Apache. Yet another chipper to check out:) How much PTO hp does the 2610 have? The 2310 is rated at 18.7 at the PTO.

Bob i have a TYM 300 with about 24 PTO hp. Only jam I have is feeding alot of spruce branches into the machine. Chain saw wrench opens the chute and you can clean it in about 30 seconds.

Adding to my post yesterday, I have put a trailer hitch on the back of the chipper, pull a trailer behind, when it is full, time for a break!!

The 2610 is listed to have 19.6 at the PTO. The Apache is an older unit, no longer made but there seems to be a few around. Member Jaybrad has one, he's in central Maine. Found this site that talks about it wwgrinder (wwgrinders)

I found mine on Craigs list and it was only about 5 miles from home. It had been under a tarp for a good number of years and not used much at all.

Thanks, been watching Craig's list, too. Checking all options. Not locked into a brand yet. Right now looking at shipping charges. Strange how it can be less $$$ to buy out of state and pay shipping than buying the same item local. Go figure.
