Iron Brew - I think you should weld some hooks on there, blister the paint, and hang the chokers so they can swing back and forth and wear the labels off. The thing is just 'way too new!
Just jealous. It looks real nice.

looks like a real nice piece of equipment. on your picture it looks like the pto shaft has a pretty steep angle on it=when winch is placed on ground for operation. just wondering if that is causing you any binding or rattleing in the pto knuckles? when i ordered my fransgard winch, i ordered the model that was updated to better match pto heights on newer compact tractors so there wouldn't be a problem with binding. i just love my winch! it has 7000lbs pulling capacity and my kubota b7800 weighs around 2500lbs and it works great on it. hope you enjoy your winch just as much.

I thought about welding hooks and a saw carrier to the winch, but not until the warranty is done. Also, it is nice paint and don't want to mess it up. Rust protection.

Haven't experienced any noises or binding of the pto. If I need to, I'll modify it for that later on. (by making the blade deeper).

Nice winch Iron brew, I think you'll really enjoy it. The PTO angle in your picture is the same as my Farmi. It has never rattled, clunked or made any strange noise with 30 plus years of use/abuse. One thing to keep in mind, when pulling without a snatch block don't pull off the side more than 15 degrees. I think the book says 30 but that got me in big trouble well at least for a couple of days when i broke the rear axle housing and lift arms on one of my tractors. My welder man repaired it better than new. Just want to inform you on what can happen. These are "NASTY PULLING BEASTS", and don't let anyone fool you about it. The work capacity of you tractor just went 5 times more than it was. . . Enlighten me on this snatch block . . . you have to un hook it when your hitch comes to it? Could you send me some pic's of it and may be a ball park price? . . .Thanks and becareful . . .John

OK.

The bad - It is definitely not "standard" Cat measurements. I had to remove my quick hitch.

Just curious, what didn't line up? I have the exact same winch, mated to a Speeco/TSC quick hitch.

Iron Brew, i to had to remove my quick hitch. My Farmi has catagory 1-2 pins, the pin centers doesn't come close to lining up with my QH.Its listed on the website as catagory 1-2 which means what? mine looks like #2. I want to keep my winch as close as possible to the tractor to keep my lift capacity up. Setting back 4" or so can really decrease the lift capacity in my opinion. I skid long distances so i need all i can get and right now a used skidder is out of the question . . .John

I'm at work for the next week. I'll post pictures of the snatch block when I get home. No need to do anything other than tug the clutch rope to engage the winch, and hold on when it hits the pulley It just flips the "keeper" and changes direction when the sliders hit it.

The upper pin was nowhere near the right place for my quick hitch.

Here's an example from the Farmi site: Snatch Block - Farmi Winch I think they're worth it if you often use the winch in tight woods. I use a regular snatch block, but rarely enough so I won't shell out the bucks for the self-release jobber.

Very similar to the Farmi, but made in USA (not sure where Farmi is made) and quite affordable. I'll post the info when I get home (as long as I'm not messing with Forum rules - can anybody tell me?)
