I certainly don't blame the truck driver for being irate. It was stupid, inconsiderate, etc. for the car driver to park there, but since there was no one in the car (and I can only assume he/she was in the RV asleep), I did wonder whether that truck driver really thought someone would come move the car. And I'll bet the air horn disturbed the sleep of the other truckers more than it did the idiot car driver. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Never had any problems at any of the truck stops. Just pretended I was a real trucker and made sure no one was ever blocked. Several times on real crowded nights I'd ask where to park.

Most of these fellows had passed me during the day. No way I could maintain the 115 KPH these fellows were driving on a curvy 2 lane road.

Daryl, can't afford a Prevost, even well used, but the Western RV Alpine has been my first choice ever since it came out. Unfortunately, the prices have climbed since then (I think the first ones were about $150K new, but the used ones I've seen are now in that range), and I probably won't be able to afford one of them, either. We've gotten good service from our 1988 28' Pace Arrow, which we bought used about 8 years ago for $21K, but it's almost time to replace it. I promised the CFO we'd get 10 years out of it. I'm going to try to keep the replacement under $75K.

Canadian drivers do have nerves of steel.

When we go snow machining in Cochrane, Ontario, we take the 2 lane from Thessalon north through Timmins. I give the log haulers on that road a wide berth. When I see them coming, I pull over until they pass. At night, you can see them coming a long way off. The must have 10 lights facing forward to see Bullwinkle with. I like the moose bars too.
