Walmart Manager Called Me!

I just drink very little beer anymore, but awhile back I had a glass of Shiner Bock at Pappadeaux and it was so good I bought a 12 pack at Walmart, but haven't drunk any of it yet.

By the way, have you ever eaten at Uncle Buck's Brewery & Steakhouse (Outdoor World/Bass Pro) in Grapevine? We recently ate there for the first time, and sampled each of their 4 kinds of beer. The food and service were good, but I didn't care for any of their beers.

If you are buying your scotch by the case of 1.75L bottles, you can call me GF, like girl friend, all you want, Lou! Especially if you plan to share!

 Lou Shouldn't drink and write sometimes.. FG.. :)

I usually buy a case at a time.. you can save a few bucks.. I think it's 5% plus if you pay cash then another 3% and if you have your card it's another 3%,, after all the discounts they normally own me money.. maybe not..

Shiner bock is one fine beer,, ice cold shiner with bbq ribs or a hamburger.. hard to beat.. Lou

Well, after yesterday, the DC council tried to impose a minimum wage hike over Federal Standards for big box stores. It passed, and Walmart promptly withdrew support and construction for 6 stores, 3 of which already underway. The mayor now may veto the action, in order to get WalMart and other big box stores interested in DC.

Myself, been to a WalMart three times. I have over 10 of them with 30-45 minutes of my house. I am an island in urbanian.

Bird, have you ever eaten at BJ's in Lewisville. They are a micro-brewery and their pilsner is good. I've only eaten at the one in Norman, OK and I can't remember the beer I had the 2nd time, but the next time I'll try one of their dark brews. The PM Porter is callin' my name.:)

Regarding government food assistance:

There was a report published the other week that shows that almost 1/3 of the US population is now receiving some form of goverment food assistance. It went on to say that the number of people receiving food assistance in this country is now greater than the total number of private sector employees.

How long can this be sustained?

Nope, Jim, never been to BJ's. It appears that they brew a wider variety than Uncle Buck's, but that PM Porter sounds a bit like Uncle Buck's Big Cedar Brown Ale. And that's the one I chose to have with my BBQ ribs.:)

Jim,
I've been to BJ's in Lewisville and Addison. I love brew-pub beer!

I was in Fredericksburg, TX over the weekend and had a Porter with a Reuben on pumpernickle at the Fredericksburg Brewery. Both were delicious!

When a government can turn a penny's worth of paper into a $1,000.00 bill, we can do this forever. We currenty print BILLIONS and load in on pallets and hand it out like candy in theMiddle east right now.

Do a search and find how we LOST

"Pentagon officials determined that one giant C-130 Hercules cargo plane could carry $2.4 billion in shrink-wrapped bricks of $100 bills. They sent an initial full planeload of cash, followed by 20 other flights to Iraq by May 2004 in a $12-billion haul that U.S. officials believe to be the biggest international cash airlift of all time."...." But U.S. officials often didn't have time or staff to keep strict financial controls. Millions of dollars were stuffed in gunnysacks and hauled on pickups to Iraqi agencies or contractors, officials have testified.
