45' high ice.
It shakes when the waves blow and grinds when the ice moves.
They originally put it up for auction in 2016, but the Coast Guard couldn't make an inspection because of " a string of bad luck with weather conditions"

It's 7 miles out into Lake Michigan, north of Green Bay, South of Big and Little Bay de Noc's...

Every lighthouse I have ever visited has been in a very remote location with absolutely miserable weather.

I quit visiting "scenic" lighthouses years ago.

There's a great driving tour around Lake Michigan called the Lake Michigan Circle Tour. And there are Harbor Tours off of that route. My wife and I have driven it in its entirety twice, once in each direction. Many lighthouses along the way.

As they say, it's all about location, location, location. It's off of Escanaba, and that's a nice location.
