Don't count on it without confirming it is indeed a 155. Just had a lengthy call from a potential customer who was first interested in a Massey compact....found a dealer with a surprising amount of nice looking Massey compacts. This caller is one of the few who did his homework before buying what seemed like a real bargain....and by checking chassis and engine info discovered they had simply put all Massey decals on a group of Hinomotos...likely straight from vn. A few years back there was some source rebadging Mitsubishis and Shibauras as Yanmars....I know Len Sheaffer got a lot of those calls as well as us, from people looking for parts they were never going to get. It is almost impossible to overestimate the importance of choosing a reliable seller with a credible history in this market.

I recently saw one of these super clean "Masseys" with a Bulldog FEL on ebay....obvious scam. Sent the seller an email stating the tractor was a rebadged Hino and received no response back.....didn't really expect one.

Would that be what a U.T.D.A. Certified.tractor Dealer would be for.Or does the U.T.D.A. matter much at all.

UTDA
Who We Are

The Used Tractor Dealers Association is a not-for-profit organization with a goal of establishing standards for marketing used Japanese compact tractors--sometimes known as "grey market". The initial focus will be safety enhancement on these used tractors to make them a safer, and thus more attractive, option for the consumer. There will be a secondary focus on marketing which will involve a wider base of service and parts support, again contributing to these tractors being a better value for the consumer.

Smoody.
Here is a typical example for a tractor that came from a UTDA Dealer that was in good standings at the time of purchase. Only a couple of Yrs.ago. If they are not going to sell tractors by UTDA standards then it's Basicly just a bunch of BS. It's not illegal and just what it took to make a sale.In my case I didn't want or need them anyways all my land is flat as a pancake and the price of the tractor represented it. For the price of ROP to be added was a joke I could add them myself for Hundreds less and in a couple of Hrs. time.
