I was going through a similar dilemma a couple years ago, regarding getting rid of my compact for a full size utility, mainly for more power and a cab with buddy seat.
I ended up not buying a new tractor and sticking with my little L series Kubota with no cab.

There isnt a single time I get on my tractor and don't wish that I had just bit the bullet at the time.

If you are in a position to be able to buy one now, don't wait too long! Just buy the larger tractor and have years of enjoyment ahead. If your anything like me, you'll wish you did when you could!

Sounds like I am like you!

It is about the pocketbook. If you can afford the M5 I'd definitely go that way. I have a MF2660 and had a long lemon-list of problems when I first got it. If it barfed one more time I was going to buy the M5. You need to check what overhanging tree limbs and various obstructions you have because that M5 (or for that matter the other 80 series Kubota's) will take up a lot more space than your current machine. I know where I bush hog a cab would not last a week.

It always comes down to money doesn't it? I have been thinking the same thing about the cab. I have a lot of trimming work to do before attempting to mow the places I do with my 4600. I'm sure new windows are big $$$$. To be honest, in surprised I never knocked myself out from branches. Oh and bumping a walnut tree is fun too.

I have a scar from the corner of my mouth down my right cheek from a sapling that whipped me while bush hogging. Came very close to knocking me from the seat. It happens.

I ended up getting the M5-091 cab with 34" radials, cast wheels, buddy seat, loader and two remotes. Just waiting for it to come in. Pretty excited.

I was probably referred to in an earlier post but can't get the link to work. Ha. Anyway, the 091 is a nice tractor. Cab is surely the way to go!
