The average home owners must not mow very much. I have had my Dixie chopper which was bought new less than 5 years and it has 900 hours. It hasn't been the only mower and probably only about 50 percent of the use. The mowing conditions have changed, and it now gets about 85 percent. How would you come out ahead buying such a mower. I cut the average small yard for $30. That's 50 mowings to break even assuming the mower cost $1,500. I also string trim and blow off the driveway for that price. You are going to need additional equipment to do that. We still haven't figured in operating cost such as fuel, break downs, and regular maintenance. We still haven't factored in the time you spent mowing 50 times.
