Want a machine that will mulch leaves...lots of leaves.

I'm hoping someone, when posting about solutions for leaves, will also give a remedy for pine needles. Those don't chop up even with mulching blades and mulching kit. Way too many for use only in azaleas flower beds, so no desire to rake and spread.

This rake will get most of them, but i still clean up with a hand rake............and then burn 'em. The rake is also good for cleaning debris from falling trees, and scratching in grass seed under certain conditions....i.e. loosened top soil.

At one point, I took over our church's lawn mowing: about 5 acres with lots of big oak trees. They'd had a couple Sears tractors with blower mounted behind the seat that blew leaves into a trailer being pulled. I had them buy me a Scag zero turn. I'd just go around the lawn discharging inward and keep doing that until the Scag about choked down. Then turned around for a couple rounds and then back again. Mulched up the leaves fine. Hated those Sears tractors and noise from that blower behind the seat. This was a non mulching Scag, too. For my own lawn/leaves, I just use a walk behind mulching mower. Works great.

My solution on a 72" front mower: Leaves, dandelion seeds, nuts, sticks, small stones, and dog toys. Someday I'll add a hydraulic dump gate to the back. You get a 'loaf' of stuff. Set a match to it and it smolders for a day. Bada boom, bada bing.
