No wonder I slightly prefer the Honda; I have no style or class. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I actually just chose a loaded up '06 Accord over the Acura RL. If prices were equal, and I were not shown the badges, I would have picked the loaded Accord; so that's what I did. It doesn't hurt my feelings at all either that I saved about $13k for not getting the Acura nameplate either! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif )

I agree somewhat. But they are not the same car. People have Emblem envy! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It like all the morons that say " Lexus Is Just A Camry With A Different Emblem" really? I was dumb enough to spend more for a camry with real leather seats and an "L". Ignorance is everywhere /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Not to you Dargo... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I think I will wait until some of the panic from the hurricane has passed, to see what the market looks like.
While there's been some effect from the hurricane, fuel prices are going to stay high which means the demand for fuel efficient cars will continue. IOW, the market will get 'worse' for buyers. I also agree with those who've said the premium for a hybrid is not worth it.

Same people who say an Acura is just a Honda with a different emblem. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nah, the Acura had a "mushy" sort of ride. I liked the sportier feel of the Accord EX V6. I just came out of a Lincoln Town Car Cartier. I'd had enough of the mushy sort of ride. My wife called it the "float and glide" ride. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

That would have back in the days of the Lexus 250. My mom had one of those. Nice two tone Camry. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif If I recall, it had some wiring problems under the hood and it caught on fire, and burned to the ground, in her driveway.

The ES300's were out by then. That is what she is still driving. They have a home in FL, and one here in IN. I'd hate to think how many miles that thing has on it now!

What kind of Acura did you test drive, a TSX, TL or RL?

Last time I talked with some people, Acura TL (USA) vs. TSX (Japan) - TSX is far better made.

But Honda vs Acura??? Two totally different cars here but look the same.

I felt that I had to go with the RL to surpass the quality "feel" and look of the '06 Accord. The '06 Accord obviously borrowed quite a bit of sheet metal from the RL. The RL did feel slightly faster (I think it has 50hp more than the '06 Accord), but the '06 Accord seemed to feel sportier. No doubt the RL was more of a luxury vehicle, but I'm sort of burned out on having really expensive vehicles that get hammered with door dings (seemingly on purpose) in every parking lot.

I did look at my earlier post, and my fingers missed a key; the RL was about 23k more than the high end '06 Accord, not 13k more. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif The RL had a nicer interior, was a little quiter, was a little faster, and a lot more expensive. I'm sort of surprised that Honda was allowed to copy the looks of the RL down to the same looking LED tail lights. The real clincher was that, since I personally didn't really like the RL more than the '06 EX V6 Accord, and I don't do car payments, the Accord was certainly easier on the check book. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The TL and, more so, the TSX are 'sportier' than the RL, not to mention a lot less expensive. The TL and Accord V6 is 3.0 liters while the RL is 3.5 liters.

I've had a number of Toyota's and a Honda. All very reliable cars I have not regretted purchasing.

Two thoughts: first, I am sure GM, Ford, and Chryslers dealers have plenty of cars to sell, at extra cheap prices, though I wouldn't buy any of them.

Second, my comments about batteries, etc., on hybrids, are based upon som research. I personally listen to car salesmen about the things they know about, namely the purchase price of a particular car. If you believe what a car salesman says about the reliability of vehicles, etc., then you should give your head a shake.

Its like asking a TV salesman about plasma screen 'burn in' - they'll all say its a thing of the past, never happens, etc.. Guess what: the one thing you can't get manufacturers warranty (or even extended warranty) coverage for is 'burn in'.

Besides which I don't believe hybrids have even been sold for 8 years in the US.
